Creating S.E.W.R (Self Expressive/ Experiential/ “W”- Double Release) Formulas for Gen Z

Presented by: James Seguerra, Vice Director of International Division at Nikko Chemicals

Generation Z consumers value their skincare and make-up regimen and they look for a deep emotional connection while using these products. In this session, we will utilize our latest emulsifier complex (NIKKOL Nikkomulese SE-WR) to create a variety of “fun” skincare and colour formulas with a purpose-driven design.

Moreover, NIKKOL Nikkomulese SE-WR provides strong emulsification and transformative thixotropy - inspiring a new generation of formulators or brand owners to create formulas that can easily “show & tell” its benefit and experience in highly visual social media platforms.

NIKKOL Nikkomulese SE-WR is RSPO-Certified, Halal-Certified, Vegan compliant and IECIC 2021 compliant.

The world's first brightening Vitamin C derivative through innovative mechanisms, autophagy and anti-glycation

Presented by: Ryutaro Matsubayashi, Sales Division at Seiwa Kasei

We will introduce our newly launched concept called “iVC”, a highly advanced vitamin C derivative. “iVC” is formed by three “i” features: “intelligent”, “innovative” and “impressive”.

Under this, we will introduce the product name, Amitose HGA, which has a high brightening efficacy thanks to melanin transport suppression and melanin degradation by the activation of autophagy, a recycle system of unnecessary and dysfunctional components. Recently, we discovered that skin glycation activates the melanin uptake into keratinocyte from melanocyte and glycated skin showed decline of melanin degradation ability. Amitose HGA has anti-glycation efficacy and  it suppresses the accumulation of melanin in keratinocyte.

Amitose HGA is the world’s first vitamin C derivative which suppresses skin spot pigmentation related to “autophagy” and “anti-glycation” and we will highlight why this is an important and excellent ingredient for future formulations.

Biodegradable spherical cellulose powder for all cosmetics applications

Presented by: Takumi Tanaka, Executive Director, Research and Development at Daito Kasei

The pollution of “Microplastics”, especially in the ocean, is a significant concern all over the world. However, a variety of plastic beads, which are “Microplastics”, are widely formulated in cosmetics, and it is inevitable that we will need to switch these plastic beads to biodegradable ones.

At Daito Kasei, we have been producing several grades of CELLULOBEADS for a decade, which all meet the biodegradable regulatory of OECD 301, and the raw material is sourced from woods certified by FSC (Forest Stewardship Council®). Thus, our CELLULOBEADS complied with the SDGs.

Moreover, we have completed the development of CELLULOBEADS, that have a variety of particle sizes (3‐500 μm) and porosity levels (nonporous/porous), and have established  exclusive and special production sites, in which we are able to manufacture all  grades with reasonable capacity.

Join this webinar to learn more about the unique properties and grades of  these novel CELLULOBEADS, and their effective use in cosmetics .

How to enhance amino acid surfactant formulation, plus an interview with Ajinomoto about the trend

Presented by: Joyce Weng, Senior Sales & Marketing Executive at Kao Corporation

Are you interested in mild cleansing? Sulfate-free? Or natural concepts? Amino acid surfactants are usually the first choice for these concepts in Japan and China.

In this webinar, you will get to watch Kao interview Ajinomoto, which is a leading company on amino science, discuss the properties and advantages of amino acid-based surfactants.

You will also learn key technical points when formulating cleansing products with amino acid surfactants, as well as the mechanisms and innovative formulation ideas.

Suitable for: Hair shampoos, body cleansing products, baby bath products etc.
Foam booster: AMPHITOL 20HD
Viscosity improver: AMINON C-11S & RHEODOL TW-IS399C

Maximizing the strengths of natural ingredients through traditional technology

Presented by: Junko Iesaki (Ms.), Cosmetic Marketing & Sales at KOKEN

Rice fermentation is deeply rooted in Japanese beauty and culinary tradition. "SHONAI BIJIN” is a rice fermented extract (Sake) made from Junmai-shu (pure rice sake), and is brewed by the traditional sake manufacturing method, known as "Kimoto-zukuri (brewing)" without adding lactic acid, but taking full advantage of nature.

Jointly developed with the long-established sake brewery founded in the first half of the Edo period, approximately 400 years ago, the fermentation process yields various amino acids, such as D-amino acids, αEG and organic acids, and may further enhance the skin barrier function.

In this webinar, we will delve further into the sake brewing process and showcase "KOHAKUYUKI-Sake Lees Aging Fermented Extract", which is made from Sake Lees (Sake Kasu) fermented at low temperature for more than 1,000 hours.

This contains large amounts of amino and organic acids, as well as kojic acid, which has a brightening effect, and ferulic acid, which has an antioxidant component. All essential in reversing signs of aging and promoting cellular repair.

Combatting mask-induced skin roughness through the double moisturizing effect from Oryza Ceramide and Bird’s Nest Extract

Presented by: Noriko Sakamoto, Manager at Oryza

Oryza has long been a pioneer of rice-derived ceramides.
The amount of ceramide is reduced in the stratum corneum of the elderly. There are several studies showing that ceramide content decreases with age.

Oryza Ceramie® has the lowest water evaporation (TEWL (Trans Epidermal Water Loss )) compared to other ceramides, and shows stronger fibroblast growth promoting activity than other glycosphingolipids.

To combat one of the major adverse skin effects caused by constant mask-wearing, we have launched Oryza Bird’s Nest Extract and Ceramide – a double-action of improved skin barrier function and moisturising effects. Using the extract of functional compounds from Swiflet birds’ nests through Oryza's own special processing methods, Oryza Bird’s Nest Extract is standardized to contain sialic acid, with known effects on boosting immunity, improving brain function, and the prevention of virus/influenza infections.

Moreover, it is proven to promote the proliferation of Keratinocytes and fibroblasts – where Keratinocytes play an important role in healthy skin barrier function, thus promoting skin suppleness and improving overall skin texture, and fibroblasts synthesize extracellular matrix and collagen, play a critical role in wound healing, influence skin elasticity and physical apparent age.

Join this webinar to learn more of the excellent cell proliferative effect demonstrated by Bird’s Nest Extract and how it is beneficial in promoting healthy youthful looking skin and skin-tight junctions, preventing water loss and improving elasticity.

World’s only naturally-derived and sustainable Fullerene with anti-aging formulation

Presented by: Tomoko Ohtsu, Manager at VitaminC60

Fullerene is known for its strong antioxidant properties and its effectiveness under UV light. This ssession provides information on the effectiveness of the world's only naturally-derived fullerene, along with clinical trial data, such as anti-wrinkle and anti-sagging efficacy.

We will also share formulation tips for the use of our new liposome precursor ingredient. This is a great opportunity to learn more about fullerenes, which are perfect for clean beauty and sustainable concepts.
