Judge Information


Catherine is Director, Baby Care R&D, Kenvue where she leads R&D product development and pipeline strategy for the baby care category, including the iconic brands Johnson’s®, Aveeno®, and Desitin ®. She started her career as a formulator and for more than 20 years, she has successfully launched new products and new claims globally across multiple categories and brands. She has an extensive technical knowledge and a global mindset that allow her to be a successful R&D leader. Over the years she has leveraged global relationships to meet business needs and delivered meaningful innovation to consumers.

Desiree Dowe is the Director, Future of Skin Health and Beauty at Kenvue where she leads a cross-functional team responsible for total Global Beauty strategy and upstream innovation, including digital technology products, new categories and inorganic growth opportunities. Prior to joining Kenvue, Desiree spent nearly 20 years at Johnson & Johnson, most recently serving as their Director, Future of Skin Health. She has experience leading innovation efforts in cosmetic, natural, OTC and medical device products.  Desiree is passionate about developing innovative solutions based on consumer insights. Her career has centered around pushing forward science-backed solutions that make a large impact for consumers around the world.  

Jennifer Roman leads Neutrogena Makeup and External Innovation and strategy at Kenvue, supporting the iconic brands Neutrogena® and Aveeno®. Prior to joining Kenvue, Jennifer led R&D at Revlon developing global cosmetics, OTCs and fragrance for Mitchum, Elizabeth Arden, Revlon, and Almay. There she created an R&D Innovation Incubator and sat on the Social Responsibility Board, guiding internal company strategies for natural and clean list narratives and sustainable, responsible initiatives. With over 25 years of diverse consumer product execution, Jennifer has a passion for building innovation capabilities to support the future of Kenvue brands, holds published patents, and excels at delivering differentiated claims to market. 

Oliver Price is the Senior Director R&D, Product Resiliency & Sustainability at Kenvue where he leads a team to develop and embed responsible innovation processes across all of Kenvue’s product segments. He provides strategic counsel on sustainability and safety topics and manages strong external partnerships with government bodies and other organizations. Prior to joining Kenvue, Oliver served as the Global Head of Product Sustainability and Stewardship at Reckitt and has more than 20 years of professional experience in environmental sustainability. Oliver is deeply passionate about sustainable innovation. His career has centered around environmental science and policy development, looking to advance the development and adoption of safe and sustainable materials. 

Tom Campbell is R&D Manager of New Product Innovation, Kenvue where he leads product development and innovation for the LISTERINE™ brand.  Tom has commercialized several new products for Kenvue, including LISTERINE™ Sensitivity Zero Alcohol, a formulated medical device for the treatment of dentinal hypersensitivity.  Tom is a recognized expert in Oral Care formulations development, with a career spanning three decades in toothpaste and mouthrinse product innovation.

Alessandro Comerci is Senior Director, Global Chemicals & R&D Procurement at Kenvue where he leads a team that sources all of Kenvue’s chemical ingredients and APIs as well as R&D procurement activities partnering for external innovation development, sustainability, and supply chain resiliency across all of Kenvue’s product segments. Prior to joining Kenvue, Alessandro led the Coty global chemicals and innovation procurement team and spent 15 years in procurement at P&G across a variety of categories. 

Alessandro is passionate about business development through external innovation and strategic supplier partnerships, team development, and procurement sourcing skills development.

An accomplished Formulation Chemist with a Masters in Formulation Science, Su Fen specialises in creating and delivering innovation for the beauty industry which is guided by her 18 years of cross continental experience, with particular focus in personal care and colour cosmetics. At Enkos, Su Fen leads the highly skilled innovation team in developing and delivering blue-sky product concepts, where she applies her passion and knowledge in skin physiology and biochemistry to identify unique pathways that offer highly efficacious systems and of creative communication.  

Muriel Pujos is head of active ingredients innovation for the new developments & innovation at Coty from skin to sun, make-up & body. She is also responsible for the scientific communication of Lancaster, COVERGIRL Skincare, Philosophy, etc. A Doctor in Pharmacy, she has spent the past 25 years applying her visionary scientific approach and expertise turning clinical science into exceptional, everyday beauty care with a focus on skin ageing, sun damage and make up.  

Jeff Rosevear is the Head of Skincare R&D in the Prospective Innovation Department at Unilever. In his 23-year career with Unilever he has lead R&D beauty and personal care launches across the company’s global brands, as well as launching many fast to market new brands through its digital brand incubator unit. His time spent in Open Innovation exposed him to a huge breadth of research, ingredient innovation, and external talent, driving his passion for new technologies that step change product stories, claims, and the consumer experience.   

Sara holds a MSc in Pharmacy and a MSc in Cosmetic Science & Technology. Additionally, she has gained further qualifications through high-level masterclasses covering various aspects of the cosmetic industry, from make-up formulation to safety assessments. With such a strong background, Sara has been serving the cosmetic and personal care industry for the last ten years, covering R&D, Formulation, and Regulatory roles for manufacturers of speciality ingredients and finished products. Sara is currently working with the innovative ME&theCHEMIST – Global Consultancy Labs based in the UK. 

Stephanie is R&D Global Product Research Lead at Galderma in Switzerland, the leading company solely dedicated to advancing dermatology for every skin story. She holds a MSc. in Cosmetic Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy of Université Paris-Saclay, and gained 20+ years of experience in the cosmetic industry. Passionate about skincare and science-based innovation, Stephanie is a driven individual with a solid technical expertise and consumer-centric mindset. In her current role at Galderma, she partners with the Global Marketing teams (Cetaphil, Differin, Benzac/Acnecide) to shape the innovation pipeline, and she leads the implementation of the brands Innovation plan from a R&D standpoint. 

Having worked for 10 years for different cosmetic brands, Elsa Pomès has become an expert in the development of natural and organic cosmetic products. Co-founder & cosmetic product development manager of the Parisian brand Atelier Populaire, her expertise spans various areas, including R&D, European cosmetic regulations, COSMOS certification and marketing development. Passionate about this industry, she passes on her knowledge by giving lessons to engineering school students on natural ingredients and formulation. 

Andrea holds a PhD in Polymer & Colloid Chemistry, an MSc in Industrial Chemistry and has been awarded the status of Fellow (FRSC) and Chartered Chemist (CChem) by the Royal Society of Chemistry. Andrea has devoted his professional life to the cosmetic and personal care industry, working for manufacturers of speciality ingredients and finished products. In fact, since 1998, he has been covering roles in R&D, Innovation and Formulation Technology in multinational Companies such as Oriflame R&D, Neal’s Yard Natural Remedies, Dow Corning, Lamberti Chemical Specialties, Intercos and 3M. Andrea is currently working with the innovative ME&theCHEMIST – Global Consultancy Labs based in the UK. 

Jeanette is a biochemist with over 20 years of experience in the beauty and healthcare industry working across global companies such as L'Oreal and GSK.  She has a passion for natural and green cosmetics, as well as a desire to explore more sustainable and innovative product formats across the innovation pipeline. Leading the ""Trusted Ingredients"" strategy at Haleon (formerly GSK), she brings deep expertise in the science behind the ingredients across Haleon's diverse portfolio of brands.  Jeanette pioneers sustainability in science and is a firm believer in creating brands with trust whilst delivering beautiful ingredient stories to consumers. She is the MyGreenLab Weybridge site lead, which recently received a Platinum certification for Lab Sustainability." 

Lise Sorel loves science and it is therefore quite natural that her steps led her to cosmetic formulation laboratories. From suncare to perfumes and tinted products to skincare, she has acquired a solid expertise in the technique and development of a product, with more sustainability conscious, natural, local sourcing. This natural formulation background and the fact that she has been immersed in sustainability has led her to work today as a Sustainability Project Leader at Shiseido’s Europe Innovation Center to contribute to tomorrow's products with a focus on innovation and consumer satisfaction.  

Nelly is a formulation project manager at Laboratoire Nuxe, a French cosmetics group distributed in pharmacy in France and abroad. Nelly is a graduate of a Master in Sensory Analysis and Cosmetic Product Formulation. She joined the Nuxe research and development teams 18 years ago after completing a 5-month brief with a manufacturer of natural raw materials. Nelly's has multiple fields of expertise with a varied palette of galenics/textures, from emulsion to micellar lotion, including make-up, hygiene products and sunscreen products. She designs and formulates new products, manages the process of scaling up to industrialization in conjunction with the industrial transposition team. 

John is a pharmacist from the National University of Colombia with a Master's in sustainable development and specialization studies in marketing, cosmetic science and neuromarketing. John is a prolific writer, having contributed to 30 publications worldwide and he has received countless, prestigious industry awards. He also speaks at various international conferences in Europe and Latin America. John joined Belcorp in 2005 and is currently serving as Senior Researcher for skincare, suncare and personal care categories. 

Marta joined Avon in 2016 from Barry Callebaut, bringing over 20 years of expertise in raw materials sourcing, particularly focusing on agricultural commodities. Avon, a direct-selling beauty company, champions global female entrepreneurship and strives to create a better world for all women. Sustainability is at the top of Marta's agenda, believing it has significantly influenced Avon’s raw materials portfolio for years. Marta holds a master’s degree in computational and applied mathematics and a postgraduate diploma in finance management. 

Dr Georgios Stamatas is a Biomedical Engineer with more than 25 years international experience in the Skin Care industry.  He currently holds the position of Scientific Director Cosmetics & Hygiene at SGS Health & Nutrition Division. He is passionate about discovering actionable scientific insights relating to skin physiology and the effects of topical skincare products. His pioneering work ranges from skin microbiome and metabolome to computational biology and development on non-invasive clinical methods. Dr. Stamatas holds a PhD in Chemical/Biomedical Engineering and has co-authored more than 100 peer-review publications and 14 patents. 

With 25+ years in beauty, Estrella started as a makeup artist, specializing in fashion, TV, and cinema. Collaborating with seasoned professionals, she honed her skills and gained invaluable insights into artistry while continuously refining her techniques. Now at HCT By KDC One, she pioneers innovative formulations, engaging with cutting-edge trends, ingredients, and technologies in the ever-evolving beauty landscape. Her roles as Global Brand Manager and Education Manager for cosmetic brands underscoring her dedication to excellence and passion for industry advancements. 

Mike manages a global regulation compliance consulting service including chemicals, cosmetics, food, pharmaceuticals as well as market research globally. He has experience in beauty, beauty devices and pharmaceuticals. He has contributed to many interviews, TV programs, magazines and reports as KOL of the market. Mike also wrote the “K-wave white paper 2018 and 2019” and co-authored the industry analysis and forecast. He believes that trends, regulations and market shifts should go together. 

Mr. Sahota is the founder of Ecovia Intelligence, which has been encouraging sustainable development in the food, cosmetic & related industries since its formation in 2001. For over two decades, he has undertaken research & consulting for a wide range of clients that range from multinationals, government organizations, to dedicated green companies. Mr. Sahota has degrees in Applied Chemistry and Management Science, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing. Mr. Sahota has co-authored a number of books on sustainability and green products. He is editor of Sustainability: Greening of the Cosmetics Industry (Wiley & Sons) 

Robin Parker is the R&D Director of THG Labs, a UK manufacturer of premium skin care, hair care and toiletries. Robin began his career as a formulator with Max factor and has subsequently worked with a number of UK based contract manufacturers developing and supplying products to most of the UK’s high street retailers and many well-known brands. Working as a supplier to many diverse brands requires THG Labs to offer innovation across a wide area of expertise, one of the most important being natural and environmentally sensitive raw material sourcing. Robin is a Past President of the Society of Cosmetic Scientists and currently sits on two of the CTPA committees. 

Tom Hornshøj-Møller has a Master in Technical Chemistry and, since graduation, has always been working in R&D no matter the type of business. For the last 20 years the headline has been cosmetics and, for the last 15 years, the main focus has been natural/organic cosmetics. Due to his vast experience within the field he has made several presentations/lectures on the behalf of Ecocert as well as Cosmos. For the last 4 years he's been acting as independent consultant assisting cosmetic companies in the field of formulation. 

Judi runs a formulation laboratory and consultancy and has spent much of the last 16 years sharing her knowledge of the evolving area of natural product formulation, ingredients and sustainability. She previously worked in the fragrance industry in various Innovation roles. She holds an MBA from the Open University Business School and is a Chartered Chemist. On behalf of the Society of Cosmetic Scientists (UK & Ireland) she acted as the Steering Committee Chair for the highly successful 32nd IFSCC Congress in London, 2022. Judi was awarded an IFSCC Fellowship at the London Congress in recognition of her services to the Federation. 

Jean-Florent currently works in the Research and Innovation department at L’Oréal and is in charge of sustainable reporting and transversal expertise. He has a long history of pursuing sustainability and environmental responsibility and he is one of the founding members of the sustainable development team. He has demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainable development over the years and has contributed to L’Oréal’s significant progress in reducing its environmental impact and improving the social benefits of its products through several programs such as “Sharing beauty with all” and ‘L’Oréal for the future”. 

Dr Barbara Olioso is a green chemist – she is a Doctor in Chemistry from the University of Venice, Italy based in the UK. After her chemistry degree she went on to further post graduate training and research in both cosmetic and food science (MSc in Food Science & Technology and Diploma in Cosmetic Science). She matches scientific rigour with a real passion for modern green chemistry ingredients as well as traditional botanicals to deliver green cosmetics that work. She is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Society of Cosmetic Scientists and the Society of Cosmetic Chemists. Barbara has been shortlisted in Who is Who in Natural beauty in 2020. 

A graduate from Melbourne’s Monash University with a degree in Formulation Science with a placement in France, Ranelle has been formulating for the past 15 years. She began in the dermatology industry working for GSK before crossing over to the cosmetics industry. With a focus on innovative skincare formulation and development, Ranelle approaches work with sincerity and ethical consideration for both client and consumer at Ausmetix, a personal care manufacturing/consultancy company based in Australia." 

Dr. Tilaar focuses the Group’s research activities in natural, organic, and halal products utilizing Indonesian’s exotic active ingredients. For his innovative approach, the Group received many international innovation awards. 

Nik Donia, a Product Development Manager based in New York City, has built their career developing innovative, cross-category products for beauty brands found in salon professional, prestige, and mass market segments. Their keen ability to recognize forward-thinking concepts, captivating textures, and evocative scents, combined with their inclination for collaboration, ensures a brand's unique identity is embodied in every product. With a Master's in Gender & Cultural Studies and a Bachelor's in Psychology, as well as a Cosmetology license, Nik leverages their diverse experience to craft iconic products that deeply resonate with consumers. Their unwavering commitment to excellence, dedication to inclusivity, and passion for sustainability fuels their drive to continuously push the boundaries of what's achievable in the cosmetics industry of today and tomorrow. Outside of their professional endeavors, Nik dedicates their time to advocacy work, such as spearheading a free hair cutting program for LGBTQ seniors and partnering with manufacturers to facilitate product donations for underserved communities. 

Chloé is a Senior Product Developer at the Swedish skincare brand Skinome. Holding a master's degree in cosmetic chemistry, she has enriched her professional journey by contributing to R&D projects across various brands and laboratories, focusing on innovative and creative approaches. She joined Skinome nearly a year ago, and plays a key role in the formulation and development of new products. 

Ulf is Chief Innovation Officer at the Swedish skincare company Skinome. He has more than 20 years of experience in leading research, product development and clinical testing of pharmaceuticals, medical devices and cosmetics, and has worked for leading international skin and health care companies. He has published several scientific articles and is a sought-after lecturer at conferences and training courses. 

Lucie Greene is a forecaster, strategist and award-winning author specializing in cultural trends, consumer insight and brand innovation. Her futures practice Light Years works with numerous global lifestyle brands on strategy, research and innovation. She also advises venture capital, private equity and rising start-up companies. Previously, Greene led J. Walter Thompson’s global futures think tank JWT Intelligence, steering original research into emerging consumer behaviors, cultural shifts and lifestyle trends with JWT Intelligence leading units around the world, while also consulting JWT’s many Fortune 500 clients. Prior to this, she also led The Future Laboratory’s trends and intelligence network LS:N Global. In August 2018, Greene released her debut book with Counterpoint entitled, Silicon States: The Power and Politics of Big Tech and What it Means for Our Future. The book was awarded Porchlight Books' Business Book Award in Current Events and Public Affairs in 2018. She has been featured as an expert on trends and consumer insights on the BBC, Fox News, CBS, CNBC and Bloomberg TV as well as contributing pieces to Campaign, The Guardian, The New York Daily News, Sunday Times Style UK and The Financial Times. She has spoken at several international conferences, including CES, BOF Voices, WWD Summit, Web Summit, SXSW, and Cosmoprof.
